Notre Dame football attempting to flip 2028 Ohio State 4-star commit

Notre Dame football has a virtually complete 2027 recruiting class, which means that the coaching staff has been able to turn its focus to the 2028 cycle. The Irish are off to a good start, with three commits, but they’re clearly looking for more and one of those players is committed to Ohio State. Florida running back Elijah Newman-Hall verballed to the Buckeyes in June of last year, and still has a great relationship with the staff. According to 247Sports’ Zach Blostein, Miami along with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and the Irish are still actively recruiting him. There is home hope for a flip, especially for the Hurricanes, but Newman-Hall did also say “I am committed to Ohio State.” The 6-foot, 215-pound back is ranked as the No. 124 overall recruit in the 2028 class according to the 247Sports composite, and just visited with Miami this weekend. While Notre Dame is in the picture, he most likely won’t end up in South Bend, but is good enough to give it a shot.
