However, Brady escaped punishment for two similar incidents during the 2025 season, leaving uncertainty over whether the league will take action this time.During the Packers-Lions game, Brady questioned an unnecessary roughness penalty against Detroit linebacker Derrick Barnes.“What?” Brady exclaimed. “There’s no way.”After fellow broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt noted that some of the flags had appeared unusual, Brady continued his criticism.“Oh, come on man,” he said, arguing that Barnes had simply turned his shoulder away during a close play.Brady also disagreed with a roughing-the-passer penalty against Packers defensive tackle Karl Brooks for a tackle on Lions quarterback Jared Goff.“Goff standing in the pocket, my goodness, what is that?” Brady said. “There’s no way. Brooks on the tackle, he just kind of makes a great play.”His assessment received support from Fox Sports rules expert Dean Blandino, who also questioned the penalty.“That’s teach-tape tackle,” Blandino said. “That’s not roughing the passer.”Despite the criticism, it is not certain that Brady will be fined. A report from Front Office Sports last season said the NFL had “no issue” with his comments during a previous incident and would not discipline him.The league will now have to determine whether Brady’s latest remarks warrant action under the restrictions attached to his dual role as broadcaster and Raiders minority owner.Read more:Kirk Cousins sends clear ‘don’t want to be out’ message to Raiders as major QB pressure builds‘Publicly apologise…’ – NFL Fans react to another classic performance from Aaron Rodgers in Steelers’ Paris winColts RB Jonathan Taylor’s wife says her husband ‘might get traded’ after firing of Chris Ballard
