Around the NFL: Vikings are last unbeaten team, McCarthy wins first NYG start

And then there was one. With the Chiefs losing to the Seahawks on Sunday night and the 49ers falling to the Falcons earlier in the day, the 6-0 Vikings are the final undefeated team in the NFL. They sit in the No. 1 seed in the NFC and have the league’s best record, and that will be the case for at least the next six days. The Chiefs’ offense was completely smothered by the defending champions as the Seahawks won 20-3 and improved to 4-3 on the season. Their defense is starting to look like the unit that led Seattle to a Super Bowl victory back in February. In Atlanta, the 49ers had an early 14-3 lead but committed four turnovers in a 29-20 loss to the Falcons, giving the Vikings a one-game lead in the conference.Let’s go over a couple other notable results from Sunday NFL action.McCarthy wins first Giants startDown in Houston, J.J. McCarthy made his first start in a Giants uniform and carried over his momentum from last week’s fourth quarter against the Saints. The former Viking completed eight of his first nine passes and finished 20 of 28 for a career-high 252 passing yards.McCarthy earned a 99.1 passer rating and made some high-level throws for the second consecutive week, including a gorgeous layered ball to Malik Nabers, who caught seven passes for 111 yards.….man what pic.twitter.com/otVSyuEIta— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) October 25, 2026
