Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Bills fans and fans across the country. Now 6-1 and currently in first place in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills appear to be a team serious about its intent under new head coach Joe Brady. It’s the team’s first change at head coach in nearly a decade, which brings with it a complete overhaul in defensive scheme. To this point, the offense has been as advertised thanks to the continued relationship between quarterback Josh Allen and Brady, who remains the team’s play caller. It’s the defense that has a lot of people scratching their heads week to week. At least that was true until the Bills’ Week 8 thrashing of the Baltimore Ravens. Though grains of salt are well-advised when considering the way Buffalo’s defense played last Sunday, they did look far more competent as a cohesively operating unit. What everyone wants to know right now is if the defense has turned the corner. It’s impossible to say that’s true given the situation in Week 8, but the results at least paint a promising picture of what could be in store later in the season. New defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard promised a more aggressive system, and he delivered on it against the Ravens. Considering all of that, it’s likely the Bills could stand to add talent in a few places on the roster before the trade deadline expires. Is the offense set, or would it make sense to bring in a viable wide receiver option to counter injuries? Most would agree that defense is the way to go, and maybe more than one player. What position makes the most sense? Is it someone at linebacker, or are they set with Terrel Bernard, Dorian, Williams, and to a lesser extent Kaleb Elarms-Orr leading the way?You may believe the play is to find a new starting option at safety with veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson now released by the Bills. Safety Damar Hamlin received the start in Gardner-Johnson’s place and he played a great game. Is Hamlin the team’s long-term plan at the position? Perhaps you have other plans, and want them to consider adding a player at a different position. Bills Mafia were pretty vocal about missing out on defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Tell us what you think about where the Bills should add ahead of the trade deadline. Plus, has your confidence in the direction of the team changed following the results of Week 8 and their decision to move on from CJGJ?Vote now! What position should the Bills target? Are you confident in the Bills?Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys:
