Athlete of the Week polls go live on Monday and voting closes at 9 p.m. on Thursday. Here’s this week’s nominees: Sophia Naden, Cheboygan Volleyball — Finished with 15 kills, 11 digs and one block against Grayling. Maggie Newman, Inland Lakes Girls Cross Country — Placed 11th and earned all-conference honors at the Ski Valley meet. Landon Fenstermaker, Inland Lakes Football — Scored five total touchdowns against Rogers City.Ava Thompson, Mackinaw City Girls Cross Country — Finished seventh and earned all-conference honors at the final Northern Lakes jamboree in Ellsworth. Maya Shimel, Onaway Volleyball — Tallied 23 digs, two kills, four assists and one ace against Gaylord St. Mary. Lauren Ferraiuolo, NMCA Volleyball — Collected 10 kills and four aces against Maplewood Baptist.
