Vote for the San Angelo Standard-Times Athlete of the Week, presented by City National Bank from Oct. 19-24

The Texas high school sports season is here, and The Standard-Times will continue accepting nominations for City National Bank Athlete of the Week throughout the year.There was plenty of action and outstanding performances last week as local football, volleyball, cross country and tennis teams competed around West Texas.The Standard-Times will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Monday.This week's poll will run from Monday until 11 a.m. Thursday and the winner will be announced shortly after.This weeks nomineesConnor Bible, Bangs football – He had 21 carries for 140 yards rushing and three touchdowns, adding two catches for 84 yards receiving and one touchdown.Owen Bishop, Forsan football – He completed 31-of-41 attempts for 353 yards passing and three touchdowns, adding 13 carries for 10 yards rushing and one touchdown.Evan Deeds, Richland Springs football – He completed 10-of-13 attempts for 195 yards passing and six touchdowns, adding four carries for 60 yards rushing and one touchdown.Gunner Garza, Wall football – He had 18 carries for 146 yards rushing and two touchdowns.Kingston Garza, Mason football – He had eight catches for 165 yards receiving and one touchdown, adding one carry for 23 yards rushing.Zeyvion Johnson, Central football – He had 26 carries for 235 yards rushing and four touchdowns.Braydon Lake, Harper football – He completed 15-of-20 attempts for 246 yards passing and four touchdowns, adding seven carries for 23 yards rushing and one touchdown.Aaron Segura, Sonora football – He completed 32-of-47 attempts for 448 yards passing and five touchdowns with one interception.How to nominate for next week's awardNominations for next week's award are due by 5 p.m. every Saturday and can be submitted through email at sports@gosanangelo.com.Students participating in all varsity sports are eligible for nomination. Please include an athlete's statistics/times from a single game/event in an email to the San Angelo Standard-Times.Athletes who win Athlete of the Week cannot win the award twice for the same sport.
