Note: only starters on IR are listed.Player Name* = Starter.Injury designation definitions:Probable = the league defines a Probable injury designation as a 75% or greater chance of playing. Historically, 95% of players designated probable are active and played on game day. Questionable = the league defines a Questionable injury designation as being ‘uncertain’ of whether the player will play or not. This replaces the former definition of having a 50% chance of playing. Historically, 70-75% of players with a Questionable injury designation were active and played on game day.Doubtful = The league defines a Doubtful injury designation to mean the player is unlikely to participate in the game. In practical terms, teams use the designation when a player has less than a 50% chance to suit up, and active game appearances from this designation remain rare. Historically only around 6% of players with a Doubtful designation are active and played on game day.Out = will not play. Players with this designation are not active on game day and league rules prohibit them from playing. Notes on Injured PlayersFor the Vikings, lots of good news on the injury front after their bye week.First, both Christian Darrisaw and T.J. Hockenson are in the last phase of the concussion protocol, which is practicing, and they are both expected to clear the protocol and play on Sunday.Jordan Mason is also back practicing and is expected to be removed from IR and play on Sunday.Jordan Addison and Charles Demmings are also back practicing after missing time with hamstring injuries and are expected to play on Sunday as well.Justin Jefferson and Brian O’Neill are still working through their minor injuries, as is James Pierre, but all are expected to play on Sunday. So, apart from those on IR, it should be all hands on deck for the Vikings on Sunday after some R&R during their bye week. For the Colts, they have seven starters who did not practice Wednesday due to injury. They include linebacker Bryce Boettcher, cornerback Sauce Gardner, right guard Matt Gonglaves, punter Rigoberto Sanchez, right tackle Jalen Travis, slot cornerback Justin Walley, and tight end Tyler Warren.Sauce Gardner is their best cornerback, who they traded two first round picks to acquire, and is expected to miss the Vikings game with a calf injury. He is considered week-to-week but expected to miss some time.Tight End Tyler Warren missed the Colts last game with the same groin injury so his still not practicing doesn’t bode well at this point for his playing Sunday.Punter Rigoberto Sanchez injured his foot last weekend and the Colts added a punter to their roster so that isn’t a good sign for his availability on Sunday either.Slot Cornerback Justin Walley’s injury is new. Not much else is known at this point, but his not practicing and Sauce Gardner already likely out on Sunday could leave the Colts struggling secondary pretty thin at cornerback.Linebacker is another concerning position with three linebackers on the injury report including starter Bryce Boettcher, who didn’t practice Wednesday with a groin injury. This injury is also new and not much else is known at the moment. And lastly, two starting offensive linemen for the Colts are on the injury report including right guard Matt Gonglaves who didn’t practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, which is new.Bottom line for the Colts, who fired their general manager after losing to the previously winless Tennessee Titans last weekend and falling to 2-4 on the season, this feels like an injury report for a team later in the season which was just eliminated from playoff contention. Rumor is the Colts may start trading away players to get a head start on a multi-year rebuild. These are the conditions where more guys on the injury report end up not playing. We’ll see how it plays out with injury updates tomorrow and Friday.Follow me on X/Bluesky @wludford
