Thomas Annunziata appeared positioned for a solid result in Friday's Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway before a late accident ended his afternoon in 23rd place. The Tricon Garage driver qualified 19th but was required to start at the rear following unapproved adjustments to his No. 5 Toyota.Despite the setback, Annunziata worked his way through the field during the opening stages. His Toyota demonstrated competitive speed as the afternoon progressed, and he eventually moved into the lead for one lap. Annunziata remained among the competitive trucks during the final stage, running near several championship contenders as the field battled for position.However, his afternoon ended dramatically on Lap 79 when he lost control while running in the outside drafting lane. Contact during a push from Kaden Honeycutt destabilized Annunziata's Toyota, sending him into the outside wall before he slid back across the track. The accident also collected Grant Enfinger and brought out a caution that eventually forced the race into overtime.Annunziata could not continue after completing 78 laps, leaving him 23rd.
