Stage set for UEFA Youth League return

Stage set for UEFA Youth League returnHuge clash aheadAfter a one-year absence from Europe’s premier U19 competition, our youth side is back on the international stage. As the reigning Austrian U18 champions, our Young Bulls will enter the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday 28 October at 15:00. In the second round of the Champions Path, they face a stern test against the Belgian U18 champions, KRC Genk - a club renowned for developing top European talent. Our UEFA Youth League matches against Genk will be broadcast via a free stream on RBS TV!Mode and a good omenFor our team, the path to the knockout stages lies through the Champions Path. To reach the round of 32 - where the Champions Path and the Champions League Path converge - our boys must win both the second and third rounds, which are played as two-legged ties (home and away).Looking back, this path might just be a good omen - with ten years passing since our sensational UEFA Youth League triumph in the 2016/17 campaign. Back then, our Young Bulls also began their unforgettable European adventure via the Champions Path. The squad is composed of players from our partner club, FC Liefering, and the Red Bull Academy’s U18 team, under the guidance of FC Liefering coach Danny Galm. In addition to players born in 2008, the matchday squad may also include up to three players born in 2007.ViewsWe simply can't wait and are really looking forward to returning to the UEFA Youth League after a one-year break. We earned this opportunity last year, thanks to a strong season from our U18. In Genk, we’re facing opponents with a structure quite similar to our own: they also field a second team in the second division, and their U18 side competes in a youth league. As a result, we’re up against a team that has already gained experience in senior-level football and brings that kind of physical toughness to the pitch. For us, it’s about proving ourselves at this level and being ready whenever we’re tested. These are knockout matches - there’s no time to sit back and wait. Our goal is to come out on top across these two legs and advance to the next round.Danny GalmClash against Genk on free streamWe will be broadcasting both matches against KRC Genk via a free live stream on RBS TV.The return leg against the Belgian side will take place the following week, on Tuesday 3 November at 14:00 CET at our academy.
