Mike Vrabel makes statement on Patriots' chances of trading for help

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel isn't ruling out the possibility of the team making a move before the trade deadline on November 10.Injuries at multiple positions, including the offensive line, edge rusher and wide receiver, have the Patriots in a spot where they could clearly use outside help to remain competitive. Vrabel was asked about the chances of the team making a move to try to improve the roster. "We're going to try to do everything we can to help the team," Vrabel told reporters on Monday. "I don't know if we will or we won't. I would imagine that we'll try to do everything that we can to help us, within reason, and that makes sense for us. I don't know how you interpret that, but I'm sure we'll listen and talk like everybody else does."Those hoping for the team to make a serious splash move might want to temper expectations considering that the Patriots were reported to have $1.5 million in available salary cap space over the weekend, via ESPN's Mike Reiss. According to Reiss, that is currently the lowest total in the league. So the Patriots might not have the resources to make a big move even if they wanted to. With that said, they could always make moves to free up cap space and proceed from there. But anyone thinking a pre-trade deadline splash party is coming to New England might be disappointed.
