I’m carrying on as normal. I love this place.“I’ll always do what I feel is going to be the best for the football club, and I won’t change that now, whatever decision is made.“It’s a tough situation, there’s no hiding from it. What it looks like and what’s next I really don’t know.“I love what I do, and I feel the responsibility – we’ll have to wait and see. I take responsibility. I respect the position that I’m in, and the responsibility is mine. What else can I say really right now?”Tensions have also grown between Carrick and captain Bruno Fernandes.The midfielder was left out of the starting line-up after criticising the manager’s tactics following Wednesday’s 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como.Carrick also chose not to bring Fernandes on against Bournemouth.Despite the club’s miserable form, United supporters showed their support for Carrick. They chanted his name during the match before directing their anger at the club’s leadership and players at full time.Antonio Conte is one of several managers named as potential replacements for Carrick. Former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is also in the mix.
