Jalen Brooks injury: Arizona Cardinals WR out for season

The Arizona Cardinals have yet another injury to deal with, and it will cost that player the rest of the season. Wide receiver Jalen Brooks, the starting 'X' receiver since the team traded receiver Marvin Harrison Jr, announced on his Instagram account that he suffered a wrist injury in the Cardinals' 30-16 loss to the Denver Broncos and will be out for the rest of the season. Brooks played the whole game. Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed the injury and reacted to it. "That happened in the first quarter, and he didn’t say anything to anybody," LaFleur said on Monday. "Then looking back at it and seeing it on the tape, you could see every once in a while, him kind of messing with it a little bit. He’ll be in surgery today and he’ll be out, but (I) can’t say enough about how tough that dude is."Brooks played 52 snaps against the Broncos and had a 35-yard catch. He finishes the season with five receptions for 81 yards. With Brooks out, it will create a committee of players to fill his role. Rookie Reggie Virgil will have a chance, but LaFleur also said that Kendrick Bourne and Simi Fehoko will also play there, but "it'll be by committee."He will be placed on injured reserve this week, and someone will replace him on the active roster.
