Flyers Game 14: Lines, Notes, & How to Watch vs. Blue Jackets

The Philadelphia Flyers (3-7-3) are back in action on Tuesday when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets (4-5-0) at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM ET. The Flyers will look to bounce back from a tough loss against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. After a blazing start, Philly looked to control the game, but they let up and gave the Ducks the opportunity to mount the comeback. It was a disappointing loss. The Blue Jackets are coming off a 2-1 overtime win against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, who have been struggling. Columbus is 2-3-0 over the last 5 games and has only won one game in regulation this season, their season opener. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Their most recent loss came following a three-game win streak. But the Flyers have been playing some of their best hockey of the season in the recent four-game stretch, which is reason to believe that should continue. Despite the better record, the Blue Jackets have only won one of their 4 wins in regulation. It’s reason to believe the Flyers should be favored in this matchup. Philly is also getting reinforcements. Cam York has been activated off IR and is officially in the lineup for Tuesday’s matchup. Lineup updates for #CBJvsPHI: Goaltender Dan Vladar starts in net. Defenseman Cam York makes his return to the lineup. pic.twitter.com/XxZpGA4vE7— Philadelphia Flyers (@NHLFlyers) October 27, 2026What capacity York will return in remains unclear. He skated with David Jiricek at Monday’s practice. My prediction is that York will return to his usual 2LD role with high penalty-killing minutes, sliding Nick Seeler to the 3rd pair. This could also impact Hunter McDonald, who has played more than well enough to remain in the lineup. Injecting my opinion here, I would much rather have McDonald on the 3rd pair than Jiricek or Simon Benoit at the moment. Could McDonald play his offside, or could York or Seeler end up on the right? We’ll have our answer at warmups. Tuesday’s game will also be the first time Emil Andrae returns to Philly following his summer trade to the Maple Leafs. The former Flyer never appeared in a game for Toronto before being traded to the Blue Jackets for Kirill Marchenko. Andrae has been in and out of the lineup this season, playing only 5 games. There has been no word on whether he’ll draw in on Tuesday against his former team.
