Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Carabao Cup Fourth Round)MATCH PREVIEW: Manchester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Carabao Cup)The tie is the first of two meetings between the clubs in four days this week, with the Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium following on Saturday as City look to return to winning ways after last week's 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.Enzo Maresca's side have won two and lost two of their last four games, losing 4-2 at home to Paris Saint-Germain before a 3-2 win over Ipswich Town, a 5-1 win over AEK Athens and the loss at Villa Park. However, Manchester City remain top of the Premier League with Arsenal level on points as the last month of football came against the backdrop of an independent commission's guilty verdict on 114 of 115 charges, the club's declaration of innocence and the comprehensive appeal lodged, with the sanctions phase yet to begin.Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday morning, Maresca hinted at rotation by explaining that changes are needed because the two matches fall so close together, describing both games as tough tests.Geronimo Rulli starts in goal for Manchester City to underpin a much-changed starting XI, with the quintet of Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Elliot Anderson and Gianluigi Donnarumma have been given three days off after the trip to Villa Park.Fabian Hürzeler's side are without Ferdi Kadioglu and Chema Andres, who both left the field against Liverpool, whilst Kaoru Mitoma, Pascal Struijk, Femi Azeez, Evan Ferguson, Zadok Yohanna and Stefanos Tzimas are also absent.Yankuba Minteh and Mats Wieffer were described as possible options ahead of the tie and Costinha's selection was under question after a difficult outing against Cody Gakpo last time out.Minteh has missed every competitive game this season after an injury in a pre-season friendly against AS Roma, and the report gives no injury types or return dates for most of the absentees.Starting XI: Rulli; Lewis, Reis, Guehi (C), O'Reilly; Bouaddi, Kovacic, Foden; Cherki, Samba, Allan.Brighton and Hove AlbionStarting XI: TBCSubstitutes: TBCThis is a developing story.
