Chargers' Jim Harbaugh provides major injury updates

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh addressed the media on Monday after dropping to 0-6 in the season. Harbaugh provided injury updates following the loss, saying that offensive tackle Joe Alt and safety Derwin James are “getting closer to returning.” Harbaugh also added that wide receiver Ladd McConkey and cornerback Deane Leonard are in the concussion protocol. Other players “getting closer to return” include Brenen Thompson, Kayode Awosika, Donte Jackson, Tre' Harris, and Bud Dupree. Alt, Awosika, Harris, Jackson, Thompson, Dupree, and James all missed Week 6 with their respective injuries. As for McConkey, he was cleared for the Chiefs matchup but suffered a concussion on Sunday and was ruled out after the second quarter. The 24-year-old's status is unclear. The good news for the Chargers is they have a bye in Week 7.Leonard suffered his concussion on Sunday as well. Before exiting the game, he recorded two tackles.
