Carney to meet with King Charles and Commonwealth heads of government

Prime Minister Mark Carney's second budget — set to be unveiled on Thursday — will include new affordability measures, business tax incentives and investments in infrastructure, defence and culture, according to a senior government source.

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s push for closer diplomatic co-operation between middle powers heads to a new venue this week, as he departs later Monday for the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, hosted this year by Antigua and Barbuda.

The leader of the official opposition also called on Carney to "keep your promised debt anchors," urging the prime minister to reduce the deficit until the budget is balanced.

Asked last week if he would respect the results of the midterms, Trump said he would, “if they're honest elections.” That has election workers bracing for election fallout.
