He became blasted for his slow start by ex-NFL QB turned Amazon Prime analyst Ryan Fitzpatrick. But offensive coordinator Davis Webb sees otherwise, even bringing up a Trevor Lawrence comparison.Webb addressed Nix’ struggles with reporters on Thursday.“I think he’s in a good spot,” Webb revealed. “He’s handled the media really good in taking some accountability while hyping up his teammates. He stood at six touchdowns but five interceptions including a two-takeaway outing against the Cincinnati Bengals in week two. The Arizona Cardinals also picked off Lawrence three times during a Nov. 2025 showdown that Jacksonville still won.But Lawrence delivered 15 touchdowns and only one pick for the final six games, spearheading Jacksonville’s run to the AFC South title. That Jaguars team endured an early exit during the wildcard round, though. But Lawrence has produced a carry-over from that six-game surge: Tossing 14 touchdowns with four interceptions.So Nix is putting together less-than-stellar results during 2026. He enters week seven producing 1,049 passing yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. But again got called out by Fitzpatrick for his abysmal performance against the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday. Nix produced a season-low 107 yards that night despite his Broncos winning in overtime 17-14.He also hasn’t thrown for more than 300 yards in a game this season.
