Georgia has landed another major in-state offensive line target in the 2028 class. Franklin (Ga.) Battle Ground Academy four-star offensive tackle Koehn Dial has committed to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs following another visit to Athens over the weekend. The 6-foot-8, 294-pound tackle ranks No. 293 overall in the Rivals Industry Ranking. He has been a priority for Georgia for years, and after nearly eight trips to Athens, Dial decided he had seen enough. He informed the Bulldogs of his commitment following Saturday’s game.“I’ve been thinking about it for about two months now,” Dial told Rivals. “They’ve always been consistent with me, kept it up front, and I just decided to seal the deal.”Georgia has been a major factor in Dial’s recruitment since he attended a camp in Athens as an eighth-grader and earned an offer. The Bulldogs remained among his top three throughout the process, building a strong foundation through consistent communication and honest evaluations.Dial didn’t arrive in Athens necessarily planning to commit. The decision simply felt right as the weekend unfolded.“There wasn’t really a certain moment during the visit that I made the decision — It just felt natural. I knew it was time.”Georgia’s sustained success, offensive line development and culture ultimately separated the Bulldogs.“They’ve kept it up front with me with things I need to work on, where I’m at on the board, stuff like that,” Dial said. “And then obviously, it’s just the brotherhood that they have and development.”The opportunity to develop under Georgia’s offensive line staff also played an important role. Dial has built relationships with Stacy Searels, Phil Rauscher and the Bulldogs’ offensive line coaches throughout his recruitment. He appreciates their straightforward approach and the connection they’ve established during his many visits.“I really like the coaches. They are all really upfront, just a really good coach to be able to bond with during the games. I love it there.”Smart’s leadership provided another reason for Dial to stay home.“I love how he keeps it real with his players,” Dial said. “You can hear their game-time speeches sometimes, and it really gets you fired up. You want to play at Georgia right then and there. He is a coach who pushes his players and someone I want to play for.”Dial has been a national recruit for several years, collecting offers and visiting programs across the country. But Georgia’s consistent presence made the decision easier as he moved further into his junior season. He had considered committing early and ultimately reached a point where he didn’t see a reason to continue waiting.“Georgia’s always been one of my favorite teams,” Dial said. “I’ve really liked going there for the past three years. I couldn’t wait any longer.”
