EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Woodridge graduated two of the top four runners in last year's regional race. Did that slow the Bulldogs down in 2026? Not in the least.

Key Takeaways

  • Woodridge cross country wins regional title by magnificent margin.
  • Woodridge graduated two of the top four runners in last year's regional race.
  • Did that slow the Bulldogs down in 2026?

BOARDMAN — "It's Woodridge."That's the answer to seemingly every impressive and even inexplicable thing the Bulldogs achieve in cross country.Fair enough, but the Woodridge boys securing the Division III boys team title by an 187-point margin shouldn't be taken for granted. The Bulldogs graduated two of the top four from last year's regional run in runner-up Atticus Sloan and Ben LeBay. Tack on Xavier Griffiths and they graduated three of last year's top 12. And they still scored just 37 points this year.Just like last year, Woodridge had two in the top four in runner-up John Brock (15:37.9), a senior, and fourth-place finisher Remington Griffiths (15:41.7), a junior. All told, the Bulldogs had four in the top nine, with junior Eli White (eighth, 16:13.0) and senior Nathan Adams (ninth, 16:15.4) running seconds apart, and six in the top 15.How?Well, it's Woodridge, but it shouldn't be taken for granted.Watch Ohio High School Sports Live on NFHS Network all yearThis story will be updated.
