Whilst the Portuguese manager remains in his post for now, he is on the verge of joining Sporting CP. Whilst Fonseca has met objectives since succeeding Pierre Sage as manager of OL, the club have not stood in his way. The search for his successor is now underway. A certain section of fans have called for the return of Sage, however, L’Équipe understands that he has not been contacted by Lyon. The Frenchman is, nonetheless, under pressure at Crystal Palace. Talks are, however, advanced with Spanish manager Carlos Vicens, as revealed by A Bola. Former Juventus manager Thiago Motta has also been offered up to Les Gones.
