Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen got what the doctor ordered on Sunday. After asking for more explosive runs, the Jaguars (5-2) got them against Indianapolis: 183 rushing yards, including 104 yards and a touchdown by second-year back Bhayshul Tuten and 41 yards and a touchdown by Chris Rodriguez Jr.Tuten's 104 yards on the ground were a career high. But perhaps more impressive was Tuten's 25-yard catch-and-run touchdown on a screen pass.HELP ON THE WAY ... OR? Jaguars should swing for Jordan Davis, Budda Baker for Super Bowl push"It's all she wrote," Tuten said after Sunday's game. Tuten's 159 scrimmage yards Nov. 1 are the most by a Jaguar since 2023 (Travis Etienne Jr., 184 in Week 5). He was also the first Jaguar to score a receiving touchdown and score a touchdown on the ground of 25 or more yards since at least 2000, and the second player in the NFL to do so this season.Jacksonville didn't need to rely on franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was 10 of 14 for 210 and three touchdowns. Lawrence completed seven passes in the first half and just three for 72 yards and a TD in thr second half. It's a style of football that Coen has been hunting for through the first couple of quarters of this season. He said Tuten had a great week of practice and it carried through to Sunday. "I thought Tuten played really well, was seeing it. Thought he was a little bit more patient this game, was running through contact, obviously, was explosive in the pass game as well, which was nice to see in the screens," Coen said after the game. "C-Rod [RB Chris Rodriguez Jr.] ran it hard. Ameer [RB Ameer Abdullah] ran it hard. I think our line did a nice job staying a little bit more connected to blocks through the echo of the whistle."While the Colts won the overall time-of-possession duel, the Jaguars controlled the game throughout. It wasn't until a late-first-half fumble by Jacksonville that Indianapolis looked like it had some life. That was quickly extinguished via a 92-yard pick-six by second-year safety Rayuan Lane — the second-longest pick-six in Jaguars history.Jaguars anticipated big day for Bhayshul Tuten Tuten's breakout day was anticipated. The second-year back was poised to show off his elite speed and ability to make a man miss. On his 39-yard rushing score, Tuten juked out of a tackle by safety Camryn Bynum and scampered his way into the end zone. Lawrence praised the team rushing attack on a day that he had to do very little to help his team win."To see those plays where we've been seeing them the past weeks that were that close, one broken tackle and the safety and we're out the gate and Bhayshul's been able to hit more and more of those as the season's gone on," Lawrence said. "He's playing great. C-Rod hit a big one as well. Tough guy to tackle. So all of our guys are doing a good job but we have to keep building on it."Thus far this season, Tuten has 492 yards and three scores on 110 carries (4.5 yards per carry) and 15 catches for 181 yards and three receiving touchdowns. The Jaguars have been building toward showcasing their rushing attack all year. It finally popped Sunday."It's not something that just happens. That's a mindset and running the football is really important, especially as we get later in the season," said Lawrence. Tuten wasn't surprised, either. He said he felt good in practice this week, as Coen alluded to. "Either I'm running the ball good, or I'm catching it well out the backfield. I knew a big game was coming and today was a great day to show up," Tuten said.Jaguars continue historic run at homeThe Jaguars have been dominant at home this season. They've won seven straight regular-season games in Jacksonville. In their last seven games in the city, the Jaguars have outscored opponents 271-75. At 5-2, the Jaguars lead the NFL with a plus-85 net point margin. With Jacksonville's 42-7 victory, the Jaguars have won each of their last seven games at EverBank Stadium by 17 or more points. That's tied for the third-longest such streak of games at a team's home stadium in NFL history. The Jaguars will next play at EverBank Stadium on Nov. 29 against the Tennessee Titans.
