  • Bob Chesney and the No.

Bob Chesney and the No. 8 UCLA Bruins went on the road and got a much-needed win over Minnesota on the road. After Minnesota tied the game in the fourth quarter, the Bruins ended the game with two-straight touchdowns. Both touchdowns were long bombs to Aidan Mizell, giving the offense a late boost in Week 10 to keep UCLA unbeaten. Nine wins is a remarkable start to the season and Chesney and the Bruins will have at least four more chances to add onto their win total.Following the win, here’s what Chesney had to say in the postgame press conference.“November football. It’s what we anticipated it to be. It was physical like we hoped for and our guys battled. Even when it got to a tied game going into halftime, they never wavered,” Chesney said of his team. “They understood what it was. They know what the third and fourth quarter mean. The fourth quarter in November means more than any other fourth quarter that’s out there up to this point in time.”Chesney’s team deserves credit for not getting caught up in the moment but so does offensive coordinator Dean Kennedy. Kennedy dialed up back-to-back perfect deep shots, with Ty Dieffenbach delivering bombs to Mizell to give the UCLA defense some support. “Guys that had to step up, stepped up and at the same point, the guys who had to fill in did a really good job of making sure that they were not a weak link out there.”UCLA isn’t out of the woods yet, they’ll be back in action on Friday against Illinois before closing out the regular season against Michigan and USC. Chesney has already tripled last year’s win total and has proven that this Bruin team is capable of accomplishing tough things, like holding onto wins on the road in the Big Ten.“Really proud of this effort. It’s an early start. You could talk about the weather, but I thought that was the most perfect day that you could ask for,” Chesney said. “They battled the entire time and never ever wavered, that’s what makes them who they are.”This article originally appeared on UCLA Wire: What did Bob Chesney think of UCLA's Week 10 win over Minnesota?
