Because damn, after 18 years around this league, even I need a week off during the season … and I have never played a single snap. I’m tired just watching from the stands. Can’t imagine how the guys feel. Anyway, feel free to leave that explanation right here…”The NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game on November 25 pits the Rams against the Green Bay Packers in Week 12. With the Rams playing Week 10 on the road against the Arizona Cardinals on November 15, their bye week only nets them exactly 10 days of rest. With no other scheduled bye weeks for the season, Kelly’s points about how the NFL built the schedule are relevant. The Rams probably would greatly benefit from a full rest given their ageing roster, but they will have to make do with this scheduling reality.Ultimately, all teams end their season on the same day with the same total number of games under their belt, so the Rams might make up for the lost four days of rest with similar breaks across different weeks in the schedule.Read more:Stephen A.
