The Minnesota Vikings’ undefeated run has come to an end.Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions rallied late after losing star linebacker Jack Campbell to a scary neck injury to knock off the NFL’s last undefeated team on Sunday afternoon at Ford Field. They picked up a 19-15 win over the Vikings, ending Minnesota’s six-game win streak to open the 2026 campaign.Despite their perfect record, the Vikings have struggled in recent weeks — especially offensively. They only snuck past the Indianapolis Colts last week late to maintain their undefeated streak. And for much of Sunday’s contest, those struggles continued. The Vikings entered halftime up by just a single point after what was a slow start from Kyler Murray. He went just 7-of-15 for 86 yards in the opening half, and threw a pretty bad interception while trying to force a throw just before the break. That set up a late Lions field goal.DJ Reed diving INT!MINvsDET on FOX/FOX OneStream on @NFLPluspic.twitter.com/wBC8wCugnN— NFL (@NFL) November 1, 2026Now, Detroit wasn’t much better. Quarterback Jared Goff threw his first interception of the season in the first half, and they missed a field goal on their opening drive of the third quarter. Finally, though Jahmyr Gibbs broke open a 30-yard run late in the third period to give the Lions their first lead of the afternoon. But to Murray’s credit, he had his moments. He found Justin Jefferson for a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter to get them on the board, and then he set up a touchdown pass to TJ Hockenson and a 2-point conversion with a wild 51-yard pass to Jordan Addison.Big play to Jordan Addison ‼️MINvsDET on FOX/FOX OneStream on @NFLPluspic.twitter.com/KT0jWkFTdD— NFL (@NFL) November 1, 2026That didn’t hold. Goff, after a few big gains from Gibbs, found a wide open Jameson Williams for a touchdown to put them back out in front by four with just 4:35 left. The Minnesota defense, which has been very solid all season, had no answers on that drive.JAMESON WILLIAMS TDMINvsDET on FOX/FOX OneStream on @NFLPluspic.twitter.com/b87aoClNR0— NFL (@NFL) November 1, 2026The Vikings went three-and-out after that, and Murray again tried to force a ball in deep to Addison on third down. They opted to punt, and the Lions simply rode out the four-point win.Goff went 18-of-25 for 176 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the win for the Lions, which pushed them to 5-2 on the season. They’ve won three straight now, too. Gibbs had 153 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, which marked his third game this season with at least 150 yards on the ground. Williams finished with 70 yards and a score on four catches.Campbell went down early in the fourth quarter while trying to make a tackle, and had to be loaded onto a stretcher and taken off the field. Several Lions players were extremely emotional, and defensive captain Aidan Hutchinson even appeared to be crying. Campbell was transported to a local hospital with a neck injury.Murray finished 17-of-29 for 210 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the loss for Minnesota. He was the team’s leading rusher with 35 yards on four carries, too. Addison ended with 66 yards on three catches. While they’ve now lost, the Vikings are still in a great position in the NFC North race. They’ve only one the division once in the past nine seasons, most recently in 2022. But they’ll have to bounce back against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills next week, which won’t be an easy task. And their offensive inconsistency is absolutely still an issue they need to address if they are going to claim a division title and live up to their hot start. How Murray and the Vikings bounce back over the next week will be key to how things go down the stretch.
