The North Carolina Tar Heels received some good news on Friday afternoon, just a few days before they are set to begin the 2026-27 college basketball season. But the news has to do with the future of the program. On Friday, five-star recruit DeMarcus Henry officially pledged his commitment to the Tar Heels, giving Michael Malone his first big recruit in the 2027 class. With Malone and the Tar Heels landing Henry, the work to build the class continues on. They have a few more big targets left on their board and if they can have success for a few more commits, it will be HUGE for the future of the program. Henry made his decision live on ESPN, picking UNC over Arkansas, Kentucky, and Louisville. He's the No. 2 overall recruit on the ESPN 2027 rankings and is a consensus top-five player in the 2027 class.
