Ex-NBA Player Fumes at LeBron James Practicing Golf Swing During Anthem: ‘Stand the F*ck Still!’

ScreenshotEx-NBA player Jason Williams slammed Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James for practicing his golf swing during the national anthem before a game.Shortly after the 76ers’ season opener against the New York Knicks, a video of James began circulating online. In the video, James could be seen practicing his swing as “The Star-Spangled Banner” was being sung. The display drew the ire of countless conservatives online, with figures like OutKick founder Clay Travis calling James out for his supposed lack of respect for the United States. On a recent episode of the podcast Hoopin’ N Hollerin’, co-host Adam Ferrone asked Williams if he had an issue with James’s antics during the anthem.“I do,” Williams said. “I think motherf*ckers should just stand the f*ck still during the national anthem. That’s just my opinion.”J Will says no practicing your swing during the Anthem! pic.twitter.com/e11qgzGPHA— Hoopin' N Hollerin’ (@hoopinghollerin) October 30, 2026Williams then predicted that James had been fined by the NBA for the act. Ferrone insisted there was no way.“You’re supposed to stand still!” Williams said. “Look, they’re all dressed the same. He’s dressed different. Guaranteed he got fined because you’re all supposed to be dressed the same. You’re supposed to be standing still. When I played, that was the rules. They could’ve changed the sh*t now, but I guarantee he got fined.”Moments later, Williams turned it over to his co-host and asked Ferrone how he felt about the situation.“It’s not like– I don’t care, you know?” Ferrone said. “It doesn’t bother me.”The outrage from the right grew to the point that President Donald Trump even called James out on Truth Social. When asked about the president’s comments, James joked it was a “slow news day” if Trump was chiming in.The post Ex-NBA Player Fumes at LeBron James Practicing Golf Swing During Anthem: ‘Stand the F*ck Still!’ first appeared on Mediaite.
