Caitlin Clark, Nike releases new Caitlin 1 'Jinx' shoe commercial

As Halloween approaches, Nike and Caitlin Clark unveiled a new commercial to promote the release of the former Hawkeyes' "Jinx" Caitlin 1 shoe. The ad, which Nike debuted on Friday, Oct. 30, features Nick Offerman narrating the dialogue with a black cat in the foreground. Obviously, black cats are often associated with Halloween spirit and folktales."Caitlin Clark is not a cat person. When she was a kid, she was terrified of, Jinx, her neighbor's cat. She never forgot that cat. So when Caitlin grew up, she overcame her fear of Jinx by turning him into a pair of signature sneakers. Good thing Jinx has nine lives," Offerman says.*Just the Caitlin 1 ‘Jinx.’Face your fears. Then lace them up. pic.twitter.com/Lu99sYFAyu— Nike Basketball (@nikebasketball) October 30, 2026The ad then shows the black cat walking out of frame as the focus shifts down to the pair of "Jinx" Caitlin 1s, accompanied by a soft cat meow. Finally, the ad turns out the lights to show the glow-in-the-dark elements of the Caitlin 1s before closing with the "Nothing Special To See Here*" slogan.Contact/Follow us @HawkeyesWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Iowa news, notes, and opinions. Follow Scout on X: @SpringgateNewsThis article originally appeared on Hawkeyes Wire: Caitlin Clark, Nike releases new Caitlin 1 'Jinx' shoe commercial
