Arteta insists Dowman is used to opponents trying to stop him

Arteta insists Dowman is used to opponents trying to stop himMax Dowman was sent off during Arsenal’s midweek defeat to Fleetwood Town after reacting angrily to a heavy challenge. The teenager appeared unhappy with the tackle and lashed out, resulting in his dismissal and leaving Mikel Arteta with another issue to address. As one of the most skilful players in the Arsenal squad, Dowman regularly takes on defenders and attracts physical challenges from opponents. However, he must learn to manage those situations without allowing frustration to affect his decisions. His dismissal highlighted the importance of keeping his composure, particularly when opponents target him because of his ability on the ball. Arteta was visibly unhappy as the youngster left the pitch, and the manager has now explained what he expects from him.Despite the incident, the Arsenal boss continues to back Dowman and believes he can learn from the experience. He also recognises that talented dribblers have to deal with physical treatment throughout their careers.Arteta explains what Dowman must improveThe manager understands that opponents will try to stop players who can beat defenders regularly. However, he wants Dowman to become better at handling the challenges and tricks that more experienced footballers use to disrupt his game.Arteta believes this is something young players learn over time, particularly as they become accustomed to the physical side of senior football. Dowman must develop that understanding if he is to continue progressing.(Photo by Alex Pantling/Getty Images)Arsenal teenager must learn to stay calmSpeaking via Hayters, Arteta explained why players with Dowman’s ability often receive special attention from opponents and why the teenager needs to manage those situations better.“Everybody tries to stop those kinds of players.“It’s something you’re born with and you become educated in it, the power of the way you’re getting hit or the tricks that all players know and the kids don’t know, you have to handle that better.“But Max is so used to it because he has it there and in training as well because nobody wants to be dribbled past by a 15-year-old or 16-year-old.”_____________________________________________________________________________________________ADMIN COMMENTSo here are some simple rules which I must insist commenters follow….You agree not to give any personal abuse to other Arsenal fans.
