Deion Sanders says he’s not worried about his job status following Colorado’s latest loss. The Buffaloes fell to 3-6 overall with a 20-10 loss at Arizona State on Saturday night. Colorado is tied for last at 1-5 in the Big 12 and must win its final three games of the season to make a bowl game.If Colorado doesn’t do that, it’ll finish below .500 for the third time in Sanders’ four seasons at the school and for the first time in athletic director Fernando Lovo’s tenure. Lovo replaced Rick George, the man who hired Sanders, at the end of 2025.“Man, I don’t think about that, man,” Sanders said when asked if his job was on the line at his postgame news conference. “I’m not here for my job, I’m here for these young men. I’m not built like that. I’m really not. I’m really, really not. Like, I want these kids to graduate, to provoke change in their communities and their lives and their families. I ain’t worried about me. I’m good, my brother. I’m not worried about me. I’m worried about others. That’s who I’m called to be.”Saturday followed a familiar script for Buffaloes fans during the Sanders era. Colorado couldn’t run the ball effectively, fell behind 17-0 in the first half and quarterback Isaac Wilson got sacked four times.Colorado is averaging just 21 points per game and ranks 116th in points per game. There are 138 teams at the top level of college football. The Buffaloes are worse in scoring defense, too. Colorado allows 32 points per game and ranks 118th.Saturday night’s game was also the team’s ninth straight Big 12 road loss. Colorado hasn’t won a conference game away from home in two years.“Consistency, consistency, just consistency,” Sanders said about some of the issues plaguing his team. “We’re just not consistent whatsoever in many phases of the game that it takes to win football games. We’re just not consistent. Not by any means.”
