24th time's the charm? Girls host leaders SturmBig match at homeThe winter break is already looming in the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga! The final three league matches of the calendar year are all big encounters, as we face the same three opponents we encountered in the championship round last season. Things kick off with a clash against league leaders SK Sturm Graz, who visit the Red Bull Football Academy this Saturday at 14:00 CET. Admission is free, and for those unable to attend in person, the match will be broadcast live via ÖFB TV and Laola1.to the Laola1 Live streamTwo of the most in-form teams in the league are set to face off. While Sturm have remained unbeaten away from home in domestic competition since May - suffering only one defeat (at home) all season - our women are riding a wave of success, having won four matches in a row. The next objective: breaking the Sturm curse! Including our time as FC Bergheim, we are still searching for our first win against them in the Bundesliga. The standout moment so far was undoubtedly the staggering 5-5 draw earlier this year, when Christina Gierzinger capped a comeback from a 2-5 deficit with a goal in stoppage time. In their 24th attempt, our RBS women are therefore aiming to win this matchup for the very first time. The referee for the match is Robert Platzer, who is making his ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga debut and, as of the beginning of 2025, is a recipient of the Golden Badge of Honor from the Upper Austrian Referees' Association. What do you reckon? Will we gain a resounding victory or a hard-fought win? Or perhaps a friendly draw? To mark the new season, Laola1, the new media partner of the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga, has launched a prediction game where you can compete with friends, teammates, and other fans. From our first encounter, we know the challenges that lie ahead. At the same time, we have improved significantly over the last few weeks. Now, we want to see how well we can translate that development onto the pitch against the best side in the league right now. We have a great deal of respect for Sturm, but no fear. We are playing at home - we want to be bold and proactive, show what we are made of and push Sturm to their absolute limit over the full 90 minutes.Dusan Pavlovic
